Central Weights and Measures Association |
In addition to a Board of Directors, the CWMA has 3 standing committees, each responsible for specific areas of standards development. These committees conduct open hearings at the Interim and Annual Meetings and make recommendations to the standing committees of the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM). Regional Committees serve as the gateway for getting new items on the national agenda to modify the United States standards for weights and measures. Any person or organization may use NCWM Form 15 to submit proposals to the CWMA, requesting that the proposal be forwarded to the appropriate NCWM standing committee’s agenda. The standing committees draw on regulatory and industry expertise as well as input from CWMA’s broad membership base in the development of agenda items. A committee consists of 5 state or local regulatory officials and, in some cases, NIST technical advisors and representatives of the Associate Membership.
